Creditnet (http://www.creditnet.com), a leading credit authority on the web, predicts the three best rewards credit cards of 2013 by category.
San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) December 20, 2012
Today, Creditnet.com announced its list of the three best rewards credit cards in 2013, based on category. The credit experts at Creditnet based the list on a number of factors, including rewards incentives, interest rates, purchasing bonuses and fees.
Because each consumer is different, Creditnet determined its top choices based on category, as well. Here's Creditnet's list of the three best rewards credit cards in 2013.
1.) Best Travel Rewards Credit Card: Chase Sapphire Preferred
2.) Best Cash Back Rewards Credit Card: Discover More® Card
Consumers in the market for a cash back card in 2013 would be hard-pressed to find a more rewarding card than the Discover More® Card, according to Creditnet's experts.
Discover's 5% Cashback Bonus® enrollment program includes rotating categories in which cardholders can receive 5x cash back on specific purchases. Cardholders receive 1% cash back on all other purchases, and like the aforementioned Ultimate Rewards program, shoppers can save up to 20% on purchases made at Discover's online store.
No foreign transaction fees, no annual fees and a low-to-average ongoing APR were also reasons that Creditnet chose this card amongst others in 2013. However, the biggest factor was the cash back potential consumers can earn in the new year.
3.) Best Rewards Credit Card for Consumers on the Go: Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express®
Consumers that spend a lot of time at the gas pump will benefit the most from this American Express Card in 2013, according to Creditnet.
The Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express® rewards cardholders with 3% cash back on all gas and department store purchases. Cardholders can receive another 6% on all grocery purchases up to $6,000, and 1% on everything else.
Unlike the previously mentioned rewards credit cards, this American Express® card does charge an annual fee of $75. However, consumers can earn $150 in the form of a cash back bonus after $1,000 spent in the first three months as a cardholder.
"American Express is regarded for their lucrative rewards program," said Jason Bushey, VP of operations at Creditnet. "This card in particular has a points system that's easy to track, and the annual fee is on the low side for AmEx."
With marketplace competition for the best rewards program becoming as competitive as ever, Creditnet.com says 2013 is shaping up to be one of the most lucrative years ever to own a rewards credit card.
