Citi ThankYou Premier Card Still Makes Me Smile

Citi ThankYou Premier Card A few years ago I wrote about how the Citi PremierPass Elite card makes me smile every time I use it. Well, unfortunately I was forced to stop using it since my beloved card no longer exists.  It must have been too good because Citi scrapped it! However, I am happy to report that Citibank recently replaced my card with one that still makes me smile for many reasons.  So here's why the Citi ThankYou Premier Card remains a top choice in my wallet:

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card Offers 50,000 Bonus Points

Competiton to be the rewards card of choice in your wallet is really heating up these days. Just when one fantastic promotion is canceled, another great deal seems to immediately pop up on the radar. In fact, effective today, Chase is doubling their efforts to win your business by offering 50,000 bonus points (instead of 25,000) for those who sign up for a Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and spend 3,000 in the first 3 months. $500 in free points (enough for 2 free flights worth up to $312.50 each) isn't a bad deal at all, but what else does the card have to offer? Here are the top 3 things that stand out to us:

7 Elite Credit Cards for the Rich and Famous

The economy is still recovering from its near-collapse back in 2008 and the financial outlook for tens of millions of Americans is still challenging. However, times couldn’t be better for this country’s wealthiest citizens. In fact, their incomes have increased significantly in the past 3 years and they’re looking to spend. So, banks' offerings for the über wealthy are perhaps even more profitable than in years past. With ridiculously awesome benefits that have become a status symbol in upper class America, the wealthy are happy to accept. These aren’t your average zero interest credit cards. Here are the top 7 elite options if you’re rich enough to afford them:

Capital One Ends Match My Miles: 1 Billion Miles Are Gone

Capital One announced early this morning that they've hit the one billion mile mark and have brought the Capital One Venture card "Match My Miles" program to a close. Originally slated to run through May 13th, the offer was obviously popular as it took less than a month to match all the free miles they were willing to give away. At a cost to Capital One of $.01 per mile, that's a mere $10 million, not including whatever they paid Alec Baldwin to have his face plastered all over your TV throughout March Madness.  Based upon the incredible popularity of the card, it sounds like it was money well spent.

Don't Miss Out on Your Q1 Chase Freedom Bonus

If you're a Chase Freedom card user, you should already know that you can get 5% cash back on purchases in certain categories that fluctuate every quarter. But did you know that you need to activate this free benefit every quarter?

Capital One Venture Card Now Matches 100,000 Miles

UPDATE: This offer is no longer available. If you're a fan of flying Southwest, you're probably also a fan of their easy-to-understand frequent flyer program— Rapid Rewards. Fly 8 roundtrips anywhere, and get one roundtrip free. Couldn't have been much more simple than that! Unfortunately, as of March 1st, Southwest's frequent flier program just got a lot more complicated. The major change is that they will now issue points instead of credits, and your points will have different values depending upon what type of fare you choose for your award. I'm not a big-time Southwest flier, but I think it's safe to say that a lot of their customers won't be happy with this change. I've had several friends already talk about getting rid of their Southwest Rapid Rewards credit cards since they are moving to a new points-based system too. What I've been telling them is that if you're looking for a new airline rewards credit card, you should really check out this huge promotion that Capital One is starting today for its Capital One Venture Rewards card.

Top 10 Credit Cards for Students

And while there's a good case to be made for avoiding credit cards at a time in your life when you might be especially tempted to rack up debt, there are also many advantages to using credit cards wisely during the college years.

Discover More credit card Every now and then a really great offer comes on the market for consumers looking to finally get rid of their high-interest credit card debt. This is one of those offers folks! Why is it so great? Best Travel Rewards Credit Card of 2010

Travel rewards programs suffered major cutbacks in 2010 as credit issuers faced a slew of new federal regulations, lower profits, and customers who were reigning in credit card spending. As a result, many cardholders, including myself, began ditching their travel rewards cards for those that offered cash back at a fixed percentage. And while I certainly love getting a fat cash rebate check at the end of the year, there's just something extra special about hopping on a flight to the other side of the world for free. It makes vacationing all the better! I miss that, and I'm sure others do too.
