You might be surprised to learn that one of the better signup bonus offers on the market comes from U.S. Bank.
I say "surprised" because you don't see any celebs pitching this card on TV or really anything else in the way of flashy marketing. But the fact of the matter is that U.S. Bank actually has a pretty strong selection of credit cards, the best of which (in our opinion) is the U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® Card.
Here are the most important things to keep in mind if you're looking to add this card to your wallet and take advantage of the 20,000 bonus points:
20,000 Bonus Points: New cardholders receive 20,000 bonus points after spending $3,500 within four months of opening their account. This offer puts the U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® Card on the high end when it comes to how much you have to spend to earn the bonus. If you won't be able to spend at least $875 per month, then this card might not be the best fit for you.
Once you redeem points for an award ticket, you'll also receive a $25 airline allowance from US Bank, which can be put towards baggage fees or in-flight purchases. This is something we haven't seen too many other travel credit cards offer, and it's certainly a nice perk for those who travel a lot.
0 Percent Intro APR Offer for 12 Billing Cycles: Cardholders will pay no interest on purchases or balance transfers for 12 billing cycles. Many travel cards offer a 0 percent APR intro period on purchases, but very few extend this offer to balance transfers too. Consumers who want the best of both worlds - a 0 percent interest credit card on purchases/balance transfers AND a travel rewards program - will enjoy each with the U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® Card.
Double Points on Gas, Groceries, Airline and "Most" Phone Expenses. Earn 2x the points on some of the expenses you spend most on each month, including gas, groceries and your phone bill. This is one of the only consumer credit cards that offers bonus cash back for phone payments. US Bank says "most phone expenses" on their website, so we would urge you to read the fine print for complete details.
We also like that they offer 3x the points on charitable donations made with your credit card. See? It really does "pay" to give!
Lastly, keep in mind that this card is reserved for consumers with excellent credit. There is an annual fee of $49 that's waived the first year, and while the bonus points offer takes a significant amount of spending to earn during the first four months, this is really a solid travel rewards card offer from US Bank.
If you're budget is $875 or more each month and your credit score is excellent, the U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® Card is certainly worth considering for a new spot in your wallet.
Update: This credit card offer is subject to change. You can check out the most up-to-date details on this card here: U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® Card.
